In a 2019 blog article, “Politics Was Never Part of the Plan,” Mr. Polanski said he was looking for similar results from both men and women.

“I received many emails from women to which I always replied that this was not a service we offered but I would be happy to talk about positive body image,” the former hypnotherapist wrote.

“I got even more e-mails from men wanting to know if it worked on other parts of the body. Needless to say — the response here again was that it wasn’t a service the clinic provided.”

He added: “I made a mistake by misleading people about the work I do with people in body image, and for that I sincerely apologize.”
